A delegation of high-level representatives from the foreign ministries of nine Caribbean countries visited Sinotruk Group
On August 15, a delegation of foreign ministers or high-level representatives from nine Caribbean countries visited Shandong Heavy Industry Group for an inspection tour. Ambassador Tian Qi from the Latin America Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sun Yebao, Deputy Director of the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and First-Level Inspector, accompanied the delegation on the tour. Zhang Gengsheng, Party Committee Member and Deputy General Manager of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, participated in the event.
The delegation toured the Shandong Heavy Industry Group Future Technology Exhibition Hall and expressed admiration for the group's high-quality development in recent years, particularly its achievements in overseas operations. They expressed a desire to strengthen communication and cooperation to enhance practical collaboration in the field of equipment manufacturing.
Shandong Heavy Industry has actively optimized its overseas market layout, with export revenue from Caribbean countries exceeding 500 million yuan in 2024, making it an important growth market in the Americas region. Shandong Heavy Industry will take this visit as an opportunity to fully leverage its technological leadership and supply chain resource advantages in the global equipment manufacturing sector, leveraging the synergistic strength of its brand portfolio to strengthen cooperation with Caribbean countries in areas such as new energy commercial vehicles, agricultural machinery, smart logistics, and marine transportation equipment, achieving mutual benefit and win-win outcomes while fostering people-to-people friendship.
About the Caribbean
The Caribbean countries are located in Central America. The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) was established in 1994, comprising countries and islands surrounding the Caribbean Sea. It has 37 member states, covering a total area of over 5 million square kilometers (including maritime areas) and a population of approximately 44 million. The visiting countries include nine Caribbean nations with diplomatic relations: Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago.
